It's Race Day

Race Review

Justcallmepete heads to Kempton this evening to run in the Unibet More Extra Place Races Handicap (London Sprint Series Qualifier - Last Chance To Qualify).

Due to the recent inclement weather we haven't actually seen Pete on the track since he finished 5th at Salisbury back at the start of October. We were all pretty pleased with that run, as the ground was a little too soft on the day but yet he still showed a good attitude and finished off his race well. However, at this point, it's no secret that he's better horse on the All Weather. In fact, his record at six furlongs on artificial surfaces is pretty remarkable, as he’s recorded six wins, two seconds and a fourth from his nine runs.

Ultimately, Pete’s target is the series final on the 8th but we head to Kempton tonight looking to lay down a solid performance. Whilst there’s quality throughout the field, Pete is well drawn in stall five (now four) and we should see a bit of pace on early without going a breakneck gallop. If Dougie can sit happy handy and travel kindly, he should be in a favourable position when the sprint for home commences, and a top 3 finish should be well within his reach.

Whatever happens tonight, he’s a horse with a bright future and he will no doubt continue to give his Shareholders plenty of fun and excitement over the winter.

Future Entries

This period of the year always tends to be a busy one for us and our potential entries for the next seven days are detailed below:

Gerrots - Wolverhampton 06/11

Masqool - Wolverhampton 06/11

Justcallmepete - Kempton 08/11

Final Thoughts

My fingers are firmly crossed that we see a big run from Pete this evening. James Evans has done a fantastic job with him so far and we all hope that the best is still yet to come. #eatsleeprepete
