Newsletter

Below, I've shared updates on all of the PCRC horses and provided a brief overview of their future plans. There's plenty to be excited about in 2024, and with the turf season now underway, it's a great time to get involved.

Dream Composer

DREAM COMPOSER

AGE: 6

WINS: 8

OR: 90

TRAINER: JAMES EVANS

Dream Composer returned to the track at Doncaster last month, and we couldn't have been happier with the run. He appears to have started the season in great shape, and we all know that he's potentially well handicapped based on his form in the early part of last year. I believe, the plan with him will now be to return to the Craven meeting at Newmarket later this month, with a view to trying to repeat last year's win in the 0-95 handicap there.

GET INVOLVED: Shares in Dream Composer are available as part of our epic Syndicate Bundle. A one off payment of just £100.00 gets you a share in both him and Justcallmepete for the next 12 months, with nothing further to pay during the syndicate period. The best part is, with only 50-60 people currently in each syndicate, you're basically guaranteed the chance to go racing, which is not something that most micro share syndicates can say! #Itstimetodream

Justcallmepete

JUSTCALLMEPETE

AGE: 5

WINS: 6

OR: 88/83

TRAINER: JAMES EVANS

Like Dream Composer, Pete returned to the track last month but ran a lacklustre race at Wolverhampton. We weren't expecting any fireworks on the night, as he's a horse that does carry some extra weight and conditioning, but even so, he just lacked that spark and dynamism that we're used to seeing from him. Following that run, James decided to give him a little extra time to recuperate, and I anticipate that we'll see a greatly improved performance the next time we see him, which will hopefully be later this month.

GET INVOLVED: Shares in Justcallmepete are available as part of our epic Syndicate Bundle. A one off payment of just £100.00 gets you a share in both him and Dream Composer for the next 12 months, with nothing further to pay during the syndicate period. The best part is, with only 50-60 people currently in each syndicate, you're basically guaranteed the chance to go racing, which is not something that most micro share syndicates can say! #Eatsleeprepete

Masqool

MASQOOL

AGE: 6

WINS: 9

OR: 75

TRAINER: JAMES EVANS

Having been extremely unlucky in January, Masqool returned with a bang in February, finishing 1st/1st/2nd in his three runs and landing a share of the AW Monthly Bonus in the process. While he failed to win in March, he ran with real merit on two of his three runs and had a nightmare trip around Lingfield on Good Friday. He'll now be given a well-deserved break before returning to the turf later in the year. He's a wonderful horse, and he's really done us proud so far this season. Having dropped back to a mark of 75, I'd be hopeful that there's still a little more improvement to come on the turf.

GET INVOLVED: A discounted 1% in Masqool can currently be purchased for £200 together with a continuing monthly payment of £25.00. #Returnofthemac

Gerrots

GERROTS

AGE: 6

WINS: 1

OR: 45

TRAINER: DEBORAH FAULKNER

In my last newsletter, I said that we'd probably be moving Gerry onto pastures new. However, since then, his syndicate has decided to keep the faith and send him jumping. He's spent a few weeks at Henrietta Knight's, learning his new trade, and to be fair to him, he actually impressed everyone with how quickly he took to the task. It was our intention to give him a spin over hurdles last month at Newton Abbot, but unfortunately, that card was abandoned. No doubt Deborah and Tom will try to find him a similar race in the coming weeks, and we're all excited to see how he gets on.

GET INVOLVED: There are no shares currently available in Gerrots. #GerryCanJump

Serious Look

SERIOUS LOOK

AGE: 4

WINS: 1

OR: 73

TRAINER: DEBORAH FAULKNER

We've been taking our time with Serious Look, allowing him to settle into the yard and come to hand. He's now ready to head back to the track, and I believe he'll have his first outing for us at Bath this weekend. With that run under his belt, we can then begin to plot a path for him for the rest of the season. Given his apparent liking for soft ground, my hope is that the rain will hang around for at least a few more months.

GET INVOLVED: We have one 5% share remaining in Serious Look. The buy in is set at £500 and there is a continuing monthly fee of £70. There are only going to be ten Shareholders in this syndicate so it's a nice option for those that want a more intimate ownership experience. #Letsgetserious

Robert Walpole

ROBERT WALPOLE

AGE: 7

WINS: 2

OR: 60

TRAINER: DEBORAH FAULKNER

Bobby has settled into his new home nicely and has been spending most of his time in the equine pool. He was a little hesitant at first, but now he seems to love it. It's certainly having the desired effect, but obviously, he isn't out of the woods yet, as unfortunately, there aren't any prizes in racing for swimming. I'm confident that we can get him back to form though, and hopefully, we will see him back at a racecourse later this month.

GET INVOLVED: There are currently no shares available in Robert Walpole.

Villazon

VILLAZON

AGE: 4

WINS: 0

OR: 57

TRAINER: DEBORAH FAULKNER

This horse is a real character, and he's quickly becoming one of my favourites. As I mentioned in my last newsletter, he's a longterm project that we plan to educate and develop gradually but when the time is right, and the penny drops, I'm certain he'll repay our faith in him and progress through the ranks.

GET INVOLVED: We have two 10% shares remaining in Villazon. Further details can be found in the store, where there's a full cost break down. As this is not a micro-share syndicate, there is also a recurring monthly payment in respect of all horse related expenses. #UpTheVilla

The Summa Peto Syndicate

SUMMA PETO

AGE: 6

WINS: 3

OR: 77

TRAINER: MICK APPLEBY

As most of you know, we took a stake in this horse earlier in the year. Truth be told, he wouldn't be a typical PCRC purchase, but when Mick vouches for one, it usually pays to take notice. He ran okay, in what was a very competitive race at one of the first Sunday evening fixtures back at the start of January, before bombing out on his next start just six days later. Mick has opted to give him a little freshen-up since then, with a turf campaign in mind. He was a classy horse at three, and if Mick can get him back to anywhere near that level, he's going to give us a lot of fun and enjoyment over the next few months.

GET INVOLVED: We have a small number of shares remaining in Summa Peto. The minimum buy in is 2.5%. Further details can be found in the store, where there's a full cost break down. As this is not a micro-share syndicate, there is also a recurring monthly payment in respect of all horse related expenses. #AimHigh

FINAL THOUGHTS

This is the time of year that most of our owners love. The AW season is basically done and dusted, and we all set our sights on the turf and this year, more than any other, I think we have a really strong string to go to war with. Of course we will still be relying on Dream Composer to lead the way, but we have plenty of additional ammunition, and with a fair wind, a wet sail, and a good dollop of luck, I think we'll have every chance of bettering last season's numbers.

Finally, I want to take a moment to celebrate the recent milestone of Joe Leavy, who rode out his 7lb claim last month. Joe has been an integral part of PCRC for quite some time, and his dedication, professionalism, and undeniable talent have not gone unnoticed. Championed by James Evans from the outset, Joe exemplifies the qualities we look for in an apprentice jockey, and we have every confidence that his best is yet to come.

Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter; hopefully, you've enjoyed it. I also hope that you share in my excitement for the upcoming turf season and the journey that lies ahead. If you're not already a part of the PCRC family, I'd invite you to join us for the ride. Click the button below to access our store page— we would be thrilled to welcome you aboard.

All the best,

Jordan Evans
